Professional cleaning and gum treatment, where healthy teeth begin.
Even with regular brushing, plaque builds up in some areas and hardens over time into tartar. A professional cleaning removes it and polishes the tooth surfaces, reducing gum irritation.
When the gums are already affected, periodontal curettage is needed to clean below the gum line. Depending on how deep the problem goes, it is done closed, quadrant by quadrant, or open across a whole jaw.
How it works
Initial check
The condition of the gums and the amount of tartar are assessed.
Removing tartar
Tartar is removed from the tooth surfaces and along the gum line.
Curettage
Where the gums are affected, cleaning continues below the gum line.
Advice
We go through brushing technique together and the areas that need more attention.
